This is Portugal’s fifth medal at the Plovdiv Europeans, after Iuri Leitão won gold in scratch, silver in elimination and bronze in omnium, in addition to Maria Martins being third in elimination.

The Portuguese Ivo Oliveira was crowned, this Saturday, European champion of individual follow-up of the European track cycling, after beating Italian Jonathan Milan in the final.

After being the second fastest in the standings, Ivo Oliveira gave up the second European elite title on the track, winning the final in 4.08.166 minutes, beating Milan by 0.655 seconds.

This was Ivo Oliveira’s fourth final in major competitions, adding his first title, after winning silver at the 2018 World Cups and at the 2017 and 2018 European Championships.

This is Portugal’s fifth medal at the European Championships in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, after Iuri Leitão won gold in scratch, silver in elimination and bronze in omnium, and Maria Martins was third in elimination.

Also this Saturday Maria Martins and Rui Oliveira will compete in the final of the points race.
