Italian Sports Minister Vincenzo Spadafora said on Thursday that Portuguese international Cristiano Ronaldo may have violated covid-19 protocol by coming to Portugal and returning to Italy infected with the coronavirus.

The Juventus forward is asymptomatic, after testing positive, and returned to Turin on Wednesday, in a private ambulance, without having participated in Portugal’s 3-0 victory against Sweden in the fourth matchday of Group 3 of the League A of the League of Nations.

“Yes, I think so, if the specific authorizations were not given by the health authorities,” Vincenzo Spadafora told Radio Uno, saying that the Portuguese forward may also have violated protocol when he traveled to Portugal, at a time when Juventus he was in preventive isolation.

Also this Thursday, the president of Juve, Andrea Agnelli, sent clarifications to the competent entities.

“I don’t have the government’s protocol, they have to call the Ministry of Health and Interior, which applies state laws, and they explain to me what was violated, because I honestly don’t know,” Agnelli responded to the media.

On Wednesday, the Italian champion assured that Cristiano Ronaldo “returned to Italy on a medical flight authorized by the competent health authorities, at the player’s request, and will continue his isolation at home.”

The captain of the Portuguese team has been isolated since Tuesday at the Cidade do Futebol, in Oeiras, after having tested positive for covid-19.

Ronaldo was in the stage of the Portuguese team, after playing against Spain (0-0), in a private match, on October 7, in Lisbon, and France (0-0), on Sunday, in Saint-Denis, for the Nations League, after being released from the match against Sweden.
