In the context of the new state of emergency, which entered into force on December 24 and extends until Thursday, municipalities with extreme, very high and high risk of contagion by covid-19, in a total of 201 municipalities in the continental territory , are subject to a mandatory curfew, that is, the prohibition of circulating on public roads between 23:00 and 5:00 a week.

At the weekend, the curfew in territories of very high and extreme risk has been taking place since 1:00 p.m., but as the current state of emergency ends on Thursday, it is necessary to renew it so that the restriction measures and the List of municipalities must be updated according to the four risk levels: extreme, very high, high and moderate.

According to the current list of municipalities by risk levels, there are 30 municipalities at extreme risk of contagion, 79 at very high risk, 92 at high risk and 77 at moderate risk.

Moderate risk (national measures)

  • Mandatory use of a mask in the workplace;
  • The possibility of taking body temperature measurements by non-invasive means when accessing workplaces, educational establishments, means of transport, commercial, cultural and sports spaces;

Plan New Year’s Eve: know the restrictions

  • Circulation between municipalities is prohibited between 00:00 on 12/31 and 05:00 on 04/01;
  • Circulation on public roads:
    • New Year’s Eve: prohibited from 11pm;
    • On days 1, 2 and 3/01, prohibited from 1:00 p.m.
  • Opening hours throughout the continental territory:
    • On 12/31, the restaurant’s operation is allowed until 10:30 pm.
    • On days 1, 2 and 3/01, the restaurant is allowed to operate until 1 pm, except for home deliveries.
  • Public parties are prohibited or open to the public.
  • Prohibit meetings on public roads with more than 6 people.
  • Closing hours of commercial establishments between 8:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m., by decision of the mayor with the favorable opinion of the local health authority and security forces;
  • Restaurants: public access until 00:00 and closing at 01:00; capacity limited to 50% of capacity; groups limited to 5 people, unless they belong to the same household, or 4 people in establishments less than 300 meters from a school and in the food courts of shopping centers; mandatory prior appointment;
  • The sale of alcoholic beverages is prohibited in the service areas and, after 20:00 hours, in any store;
  • The consumption of alcoholic beverages on public roads is prohibited;
  • Private vehicles with a capacity greater than 5 seats can only circulate with 2/3 of their occupation, unless they all belong to the same household;
  • Teleworking is mandatory regardless of the employment relationship, provided that the functions in question allow it and the worker has the conditions to perform them.
  • Mandatory confinement for COVID-19 patients and people under active surveillance;
  • Weddings and baptisms limited to 50 people;
  • Other events and celebrations limited to 5 people, unless they are from the same household;
  • Religious ceremonies, according to DGS rules.
