“We probably have dozens of companies trying to find vaccines and there are many trials currently underway, trials in record time, but they always have to safeguard what is essential: finding a vaccine that is effective and safe,” he emphasized.

Regarding the possibility of a second wave, with the gradual process of deflation underway, Filipe Froes said: “Anything can happen. It is up to us.”

Regarding the response of the Portuguese health authorities to the pandemic, Filipe Froes admitted that “worldwide, everything went well”, directly from the National Health Service, with three first-rate hospitals that “endured the first fight”, and the response in attention.
