Infarmed prohibits the marketing of a specific mask
If you have this product at home, the National Drug Authority recommends that you do not use it.
Masks for clinical use are among the most used in daily life. However, not all of them are suitable for use. The competent German authority has ordered a ban on the marketing and collection of medical devices such as masks for clinical use by the manufacturer Shantou T&K Medical equipment factory Co., Ltd, as they do not meet the requirements established by the European Union.
“In Portugal, no records of sale of medical devices by this manufacturer were identified, but, given that there is free movement of products in the European Economic Area, Infarmed recommends that the devices mentioned above are not bought or used “, can be read in a note on the website of the National Medicines Authority, published this Thursday, December 3.
If you find these masks for sale in Portugal, you must inform the Infarmed Health Products Department.
