Inconclusive test cancels the inauguration of LIDAR in Madeira

The unfinished result of the test carried out on the continent, in covid-19, by one of those responsible who would be this Monday at the inauguration of the new LIDAR, an optical remote sensing technology that measures the properties of reflected light to obtain the distance and / or other information about a particular distant object – led to the cancellation of the event.

The inauguration of the new LIDAR was scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on Monday, December 28 at the Cristiano Ronaldo International Airport and was part of the agenda of the President of the Regional Government, Miguel Albuquerque.

Despite this cancellation, Miguel Albuquerque maintains the remaining commitments for this day. At 12 noon he will visit the new IPMA weather station, installed in the building of the Civil Protection Service headquarters, Cancela and, at 4 in the afternoon, he will be at the airport to attend the departure ceremony of the military contingent that , in RG3, he was getting ready. for another military mission abroad.
