The General Directorate of Health (DGS) released this Monday the incidence data of the pandemic by municipality in the period from November 12 to 25 and it seems that there are significant differences in some municipalities with respect to the period from November 6 to 19 , which served as the basis for the application of measures according to risk levels.

Thus, in 175 municipalities there is an increase in the number of infections per 100,000 inhabitants, while in 114 the epidemiological situation has alleviated. There are still 19 counties unchanged.

Among the municipalities with the greatest decreases in cases per 100,000 inhabitants in 14 days are Manteigas (-666), Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo (-662) and Celorico da Beira (-650). Still with important decreases are the municipalities of Vizela (-586), Paços de Ferreira (-548), Lousada (-376), Caminha (-290) and Felgueiras (-280).

On the contrary, the most significant increases in cases per 100,000 inhabitants in 14 days are observed in Gavião (1,042), Mondim de Basto (849) and Freixo de Espada à Cinta (818). Freixo de Espada à Cinta, by the way, becomes the municipality with the worst situation, with 3,153 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

Municipalities with extreme risk increase to 50
The levels of incidence of the pandemic published today by the DGS would lead 70 municipalities to see their level of risk changed.

In this way, the municipalities at extreme risk would go from 47 to 50, joining Gavião, Mondim de Basto, Armamar, Miranda do Corvo, Chaves, Cabeceiras de Basto, Esposende and Vila Verde. However, the municipalities of Celorico de Basto, Arouca, Matosinhos, Caminha and Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo would leave this level.

Very high risk municipalities also go up, going from 80 to 85. This is assuming that the Government would maintain Oeiras as very high risk despite being below 480 cases per 100,000 inhabitants defined as the threshold for this step.

In the high-risk segment, the number of municipalities goes from 86 to 83, while in moderate risk, the lowest level of the scale, it goes from 95 to 90.

There are 42 municipalities that increase the level of risk
Of the 70 municipalities that would change the level of risk, if the Government updated the list based on the data released today by the DGS, 42 of them, which is equivalent to 60%, would go to a more severe level.

The remaining 28 would see an improvement in the classification of the epidemiological situation.
