The administration of the Santarém District Hospital (HDS) confirmed at the end of the afternoon of this Tuesday, October 20, the existence of an outbreak with 15 new cases of infected professionals in that health unit.
“The Santarém District Hospital, similar to what has been the national reality, also faces an increase in the number of new cases of patients with COVID-19,” he begins referring to a statement from HDS sent to Rede Regional, which He adds that the infected professionals are 10 nurses, 3 operational assistants, 1 doctor and 1 technical assistant.
“As a way to prevent other professionals from being infected, a total of 30 collaborators from different professional groups were placed in prophylactic isolation, according to the instructions issued by the District Public Health Authority”, can be read in the same document.
In the letter, signed by Ana Infante, president of the Board of Directors, it is explained that “to continue giving an adequate quality and safety response to all our users, a deep decontamination of the physical spaces involved and the reorganization and internal distribution of the equipment of the different Hospital Services ”.
Ana Infante also explains that at this time there are a total of 26 hospitalized patients with COVID-19, 24 in a dedicated ward and 2 in an intensive care unit.
