Hospital São José, in Lisbon, received four patients with covid-19 from the North who need ECMO, an essential extracorporeal circulation device for the treatment of critical patients.

Portugal registered 6,602 new cases of infection by the new coronavirus and 55 deaths associated with the covid-19 disease in the last 24 hours, according to the bulletin of the General Directorate of Health (DGS).

The highest number of new daily cases of SARS-Cov-2 infection was recorded on Friday, with 6,653 cases.
The most recent data indicates that 62.9% of new cases were registered in the North, where more than half of the deaths (28) were also registered in the last 24 hours. In Lisbon and the Tagus Valley, there were 1,563 new cases and 17 deaths.
