The districts of Aveiro, Viseu, Coimbra, Leiria, Castelo Branco, Santarém, Lisboa, Setúbal, Évora, Portalegre and Beja will be under yellow warning on Saturday due to rains and thunderstorms, the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the atmosphere announced this Friday (IPMA).

According to IPMA, the yellow warning is due to the appearance of “periods of rain, sometimes heavy, that change to showers from the end of the morning”, which can also be strong, as well as the existence of “favorable conditions the occurrence of thunderstorms and strong gusts. “

For the districts of Aveiro, Viseu, Coimbra, Castelo Branco, Leiria, Lisbon, Setúbal and Beja, the notice will take effect between 10:00 and 18:00.

For the districts of Santarém, Évora and Portalegre, the notice begins at 11:00 and ends at 18:00.

According to IPMA, in four categories, the yellow warning is the second least serious and is issued in a “risk situation for certain activities depending on the climatic situation”.
