The Minister of Health, Marta Temido, announced this Monday afternoon a set of investments for next autumn and winter, worth 78 million euros, in order to contain the covid-19 pandemic and guarantee assistance in diseases not covid.
Investments include 8.4 million euros for the reinforcement of laboratory and testing capacity, 26 million for the reinforcement of intensive care capacity (from complementary investments and infrastructure), 33.7 million for non-healthcare capacity. covid (7.7 in missed consultations and 26 million in unperformed surgical activity) and a budget of 10 million to support health and quality of life projects presented by associations or groups.
“The hardest part of the pandemic is yet to come“, says the minister, considering that autumn and winter will bring more difficulties.
Marta Temido also announces that the acquisition of a first batch of 6.9 million vaccines, for when they are available in the market.
