The Halo saga has always been touted as one of Microsoft’s strengths when it comes to Xbox’s success when it comes to exclusive games, and Halo 2 was one of the most popular ever. Despite being released in 2004, it still has a large fan base today, making Microsoft’s recent announcement even more important.
The company announced today that Halo 2: Anniversary will be available for PC on May 12. This is an upgraded version of the original Halo 2, with major improvements to its visual effects, soundtrack, and sound.
Interestingly, they decided to give fans the opportunity to experience real nostalgic moments during campaign mode, being able to switch between the original graphics and the new version.
Halo 2: Anniversary arrives integrated in The Master Chief Collection
This was one of the most popular game collections released by Microsoft in 2014, which includes not only remaster from Halo 2, but also:
- Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary
- Halo 3
- Halo 3: ODST
- Halo 4
- Halo: Reach (added 5 years after the launch of the collection)
Although they decided to extend the availability of this collection of PCs in late 2019, Microsoft decided to include only Halo: Reach. Since then, Combat Evolved Anniversary has also been added, and plans to release the remaining titles by the end of the year have been confirmed.
Even included in this collection of legendary games, Halo 2: Anniversary can also be purchased individually for just € 9.99. Although we are talking about a game released over a decade ago, it is a milestone in Xbox history and will certainly be worth every penny.
