Green Receipts: State Will Cross Verify Data to Verify 2019 and 2020 Earnings – Social Security

Social Security will enforce a measure to inspect workers’ reported earnings on green receipts in 2021 with the goal of detecting discrepancies in reported earnings in both 2019 and 2020.

This is a measure that was not applied immediately with the approval of the new contributory regime for these workers, but that will allow, through data matching with the Tax Authorities, to detect discrepancies in the returns of the last two years.

“It was decided to postpone the annual review process that is carried out each year in order to make corrections between what was declared to Social Security in the different quarterly declarations made throughout the year and what was the income declared in the tax office, allowing the verification of differences and correction by the workers ”, explained the Secretary of State for Social Security.

“This process will be carried out in 2021 and will respect not only the year 2019 but also the year 2020 and these corrections will be made without implying a requirement of greater interest for late payment by workers,” said Gabriel Bastos.
