The Lisbon Metropolitan Area will have only four counties at the maximum restriction levels as of tomorrow, Wednesday, December 9, under the new State of Emergency that lasts until December 23.

Lisbon, Almada, Loures and Barreiro are in the very high risk group and current restrictions are in place, including a curfew at 1:00 p.m. on weekends. In these counties, restaurants and stores must also close at 1 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Only supermarkets with a sales area of ​​200 square meters or less with entrance from the street will be able to remain open.

In these four counties, curfews are in effect between 11 pm and 5 am on business days. Restaurants, cultural facilities and sports facilities close at 10:30 pm.

The remaining 14 counties are at high risk: Alcochete, Amadora, Cascais, Mafra, Moita, Montijo, Odivelas, Oeiras, Palmela, Seixal, Sesimbra, Setúbal, Sintra and Vila Franca de Xira

In municipalities outside the highest risk list, curfews are in effect between 11:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m., seven days a week, and commercial establishments must close before 10:00 p.m.

Restaurants, cultural facilities and sports facilities must close until 10:30 pm. However, restaurants can be open until 1:00 am if they are delivering at home.

Further north, the 17 municipalities of the Porto metropolitan area are subject to maximum restrictions for the next 14 days. Of the total, seven counties are in the group classified as extreme: Espinho, Paredes, Póvoa de Varzim, Santa Maria da Feira, Santo Tirso, São João da Madeira, Trofa and Vila do Conde.

Another nine counties are classified as very high risk: Arouca, Gondomar, Maia, Matosinhos, Oliveira de Azeméis, Porto, Vale de Cambra, Valongo and Vila Nova de Gaia.
