The information is stored in a layer that can be activated by the user, which means that you will not see it by default. This data layer will show you the average number of cases for the last seven days per 100,000 people, as well as a brief note on whether the infection rate is increasing or decreasing.
The information contained in this feature comes from a variety of sources, such as John Hopkins University, the New York Times, and Wikipedia, which in turn obtain their data from the World Health Organization, local governments and hospitals.
This new layer will be available in Maps, for users of all countries, and will begin to reach the application, both for Android and iOS, during this week.
