The GNR issued an internal order for territorial posts to remain behind closed doors during the night after the death of a 43-year-old man, in an exchange of gunfire with soldiers in Seixal. The adoption of preventive measures by the GNR comes after the shooting that occurred in a supermarket parking lot in Fernão Ferro, Seixal, which caused one death and three injuries. Miguel Abreu, a 43-year-old man, was wanted by the GNR after being sentenced to prison in Setúbal for theft crimes. On Tuesday, two soldiers decided to comply with the arrest warrant for the suspect, when Miguel Abreu began an exchange of fire. The suspect died and the two soldiers and a woman accompanying him were injured.
