The Funchal City Council (CMF) is preparing the next phase of containing the Covid-19 pandemic, through the internal Contingency Plan that is in force at the City Council.
In a meeting that brought together CMF leaders this morning, Miguel Silva Gouveia took the opportunity to take stock of the work carried out in recent months, such as the adaptation of all municipal services to the health crisis, and reviewed the episodes that led to the activation of the Internal Contingency Plan of the Municipality, recording “the adequate and effective way” as it was put into practice, in order to safeguard all city employees and all citizens, also mentioning that the Contingency Plan “works AND gives the “Necessary confidence” to face the challenges of the coming months.
The mayor has no doubts that the times that follow will be “demanding for everyone, but he says that the City Council has the” responsibility to continue giving the response that the city needs, because Funchal will not stop. He called for “maximum disposition of all leaders”, so that the city can adapt quickly and safely to upcoming developments, anticipating “different situations” in which all will be put to the test.
