According to today’s IASaúde newsletter, Madeira has four new cases of covid-19. This means that the Region now has a cumulative total of 158 confirmed cases of infection.

The new confirmed cases are four cases of local transmission identified in the municipality of Funchal.

Regarding gender and age, there are two girls from 0 to 9 years old and two men from 40 to 49 years old and from 70 to 79 years old.

Since yesterday there has been information about the situation of a traveler who is being studied by the health authorities. Laboratory tests and an epidemiological investigation are underway.

Regarding the chain of transmission identified in Funchal, with the association of two positive cases recently diagnosed in the context of the Madeira airport detection operation, the epidemiological investigation has so far identified nine contacts (six were confirmed cases and three were confirmed negative). All contacts remain isolated and the epidemiological investigation continues.

With regard to the chain of transmission identified in Porto Santo, associated with a confirmed case in the Lisbon and Vale do Tejo region, according to the IASaúde bulletin, the epidemiological investigation has so far identified 23 contacts in the municipality, of which three were confirmed and 20 negative. All contacts remain isolated and the epidemiological investigation continues.

Maintaining the cumulative total of 118 recovered cases of covid-19, there are 40 active cases, of which 29 are imported cases identified in the context of surveillance activities implemented at the Madeira airport and 11 are cases of local transmission.

According to the IASaúde bulletin, since yesterday the situation of a traveler who is being studied by the health authorities has been reported. Laboratory tests and an epidemiological investigation are underway.

Regarding the isolation of positive cases, 21 people are isolated in a dedicated hotel unit and 19 in their own accommodation.

To date, 17,418 people are being monitored by the health authorities of the different municipalities in the Region, through the application ‘MadeiraSafeToDiscover’, 7686 of these people are under active surveillance.

The contacts of the SRS24 line (800 24 24 20) total 11,545, plus 55 calls in the last 24 hours.

The total number of visits to the IASAUDE psychological monitoring line, IP-RAM (291 212 399) is already in 2012, with 174 people accompanied by professionals from this institute.
