The President of the Republic and presidential candidate Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa announced this afternoon at the Dafundo Volunteer Firefighters headquarters that firefighters will be vaccinated against Covid-19 by following household personnel.
“As we transition from home vaccination to essential services, vaccination of firefighters will advance simultaneously with the security forces and part of the armed forces. There is an acceleration with regard to firefighters ”, announced the President of the Republic.
Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa also revealed that the Minister of Internal Administration, Eduardo Cabrita, “realized what the firefighters felt when these forces also transport patients. For the protection of them and the communities they serve ”.
The President of the Republic considers that society “many times does not take into account the importance of firefighters in the transport of Covid and not Covid patients. It is important that they are equated with INEM staff ”.
