The National Federation of Teachers (Fenprof) updated the Covid-19 situation map that has already appeared in educational establishments and public and private teachers and announced, this Thursday, that there are outbreaks in at least 122 schools in 66 municipalities in Portugal: 106 public and 16 private.
Faced with this growing number of cases, the federation of teachers, which believes that this number “will surely be higher”, demands that the Ministry of Education continue with the tests and the respective procedures recommended by the General Directorate of Health. (DGS).
“Fenprof denounces this discrimination and questions this attenuation of the problem, demanding from the Ministry of Education the guarantee of adopting standardized procedures in all municipalities of the country, as well as carrying out tests whenever Covid-19 situations arise in schools, because No teachers, like the entire school community, are allowed to receive discriminatory treatment ”, reads the statement sent to the newsrooms this morning.
The Federation also states that in these 122 establishments, most of which still have active cases, “the number of infected is more than one, so the DGS accounts are strange, which only identifies 23 outbreaks in schools in the country , since they seem not to respect that it has the document “Reference for schools 2020” ”.
In the note released, Fenprof also announces that it has decided to reiterate to the Ministry of Education, the request for the list of establishments in which there have been or are cases of Covid-19 and what are the procedures adopted in each of them.
“The Ministry of Education will have ten days to provide the required information. If it continues to evade, once the legally established deadline has expired, Fenprof will go to court ”, he adds.
