This Sunday Fenprof expressed its disappointment with the Government’s measures for schools in this state of emergency, having criticized the lack of dialogue on the tasks that teachers without a teaching component must perform.

In a statement, the National Federation of Teachers said that “much more was expected from the Government, taking into account that the number of new infected people in the country is increasing rapidly” and that it is reflected in the number of schools that have or have had Covid cases. -19, which is more than 600, according to a Fenprof survey.

Among the measures announced on Saturday by Prime Minister António Costa, to enter into force in this first phase of the state of emergency, is the possibility of measuring the temperature at the entrance of schools, conducting tests and also involving teachers without a component teacher in the projection. cases, with 128 already indicated.

“The Government has not negotiated or discussed with the unions about what activity it is intended to assign to teachers,” criticizes the federation, questioning: “Who are these teachers without a teaching component, those who, eventually, remain on schedule? -zero, those who do not have an assigned teaching component due to illness, or those who are at home because they are at risk, prevented from developing telework? ”.

Regarding the measurement of the temperature at the entrance of the schools, another of the measures announced, Fenprof recalls that this is already happening in some establishments and that “the only novelty is the possibility that those who refuse these procedures can be seen prevented from entering or staying in schools.

Regarding the performance of the tests, “it regrets that the Government maintains a situation marked by a great difference in procedures in similar situations”, maintaining that “this inconsistency of procedures, together with the lack of clarity that continues to exist in relation to what that is happening in schools, contributes to the establishment of a climate of insecurity and mistrust that is not desirable ”.
