The pilgrimage, which takes place today and Wednesday, will take place, without precedent, without pilgrims in the grounds of the Sanctuary of Fatima, following the decisions of the Government regarding the covid-19 pandemic.

The celebrations, which begin today at 9:30 pm, will only have the presence of people directly involved in the different moments of celebration and, in addition to the calls of the Sanctuary for people to stay at home, the GNR has been preventing Since Saturday, pilgrims enter Fatima.

In view of the “atypical” situation, the Shrine of Fatima asked pilgrims who could not be present, to make a pilgrimage “with their hearts”, challenging them to light a candle tonight, in the windows of their houses, to repeat “one of the most emblematic gestures of Fatima “.

The May pilgrimage will take place from Capelinha das Aparições, broadcast on www.fatima.pt, as well as on the Youtube channel and on the Facebook page of the Shrine.

Today, after the rosary is prayed, the Candle Procession will follow, this time on a shorter route.

On Wednesday the 13th, the prayer of the rosary begins at 9:00 am, in Capelinha das Aparições, followed by the celebration of the Mass, presided over by Cardinal António Marto, Bishop of Leiria-Fátima, ending the celebrations with the Procession of the Goodbye.
