The prime minister and the mayor of Lisbon are part of the honor committee for the candidacy of Luís Filipe Vieira for the Benfica elections in October

There are already more than 500 names that make up the honor committee for the re-election of Luís Filipe Vieira to the presidency of Benfica, but there are two that stand out: those of the Prime Minister, António Costa, and the Mayor of Lisbon, Fernando Medina.

The list of notables who support Luís Filipe Vieira, who has led Benfica’s management since 2003, is not yet closed, but there are other names linked to politics, such as that of the former Minister of Internal Administration, Rui Pereira, of the PSD deputy Duarte . Pacheco, the deputy of the CDS Telmo Correia and the mayor of Seixal Joaquim Santos; António Saraiva, president of the Confederação Empresarial de Portugal, is also included in this list of public figures.
