Spain will keep a registry with the names of people who refuse to be vaccinated against covid-19, the country’s health minister said on Monday. In an interview with “La Sexta” television, Salvador Illa recalled that Spaniards will not be required to be vaccinated, but reported that whoever refuses will be included in that registry, a document that will not be made public but that “will be shared with other European partners” . .

The list will be made “with the greatest respect for data protection,” the minister guaranteed. It will include the names “of those people who were offered the vaccines and who simply rejected them,” Salvador Illa explained.

A recent survey, carried out by the public demography institute, revealed that 28% of Spaniards are against immediate vaccination, although 40.5% say they are ready to receive the vaccine now and 16.2% say that it will if the drug is used. “Safe” and “reliable”.

The consultation shows a higher degree of acceptance of the vaccine since the previous survey, carried out in November, when 47% of those surveyed guaranteed that they would not.

Spain, which officially has around 50,000 deaths and more than 1.8 million infected since the start of the pandemic, began its program to immunize the population this Sunday, giving priority to residents and home workers.
