The explosion that occurred this morning in downtown Nashville, in the United States, which caused debris in a “wide area” and made buildings shake, was “an intentional act”, according to local police.

According to the Associated Press (AP) news agency, police say the explosion in downtown Nashville on Christmas Day was “an intentional act.”

The Nashville Metro Police Department described, through the social network Twitter, that the explosion occurred at 6:30 am on Friday and that state and federal officials were at the scene, as well as emergency teams, including the fire brigade.

The explosion, which will be associated with a recreational vehicle that was parked, caused smoke in an area known as the tourist ‘heart’ of this North American city for being full of bars, restaurants and other commercial establishments.

Despite damaging several buildings, the blast caused no injuries, according to a report from emergency authorities to Nashville television station WKRN.

At the same time, local firefighters also took to Twitter to ask residents and others to avoid the area.

The videos posted on the social network Facebook by the residents of the area show water running down the roof of the house, the sound of alarms and people screaming.

“All my windows are destroyed. It looked like a bomb, ”said one resident Buck McCoy, quoted by AP.
