The Council of Ministers approved on Tuesday the expansion of the ADSE, the health subsystem of State workers, to 100,000 workers in a measure that, according to the Minister of Modernization of the State and Public Administration, points to the sustainability of ADSE. If all the workers join, ADSE will raise an additional € 67 million a year.

“This extension is only because it results from the public employer’s own responsibility for the health of its workers regardless of the contract they have, but it is important in the field of ADSE sustainability, since these workers have a lower average age than the workers in civil service ”, highlighted the minister at a press conference.

The Government clarifies that this decree-law establishes the right of workers with an individual employment contract to register with the ADSE, workers who, until now, despite being employees of public entities, could not register with the ADSE due to having a kind of bail. which is an individual employment contract and not a public service employment contract.

Alexandra Leitão pointed out that, of the 100 thousand workers covered, 60 thousand workers are from the health sector: hospitals and health centers of the public-business sector, a universe to which 60 thousand non-habitual beneficiaries will be added, that is, spouses and descendants of these 100 thousand workers.
