Former Socialist MEP Ana Gomes “caught” Chega’s leader, André Ventura, in the voting intentions of the presidential candidates, in a Eurosondage study in which Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa increased the lead to 63.1%.

In the survey, for Porto Canal and the weekly Sol, André Ventura fell one percentage point in relation to the study of October 16 and was surpassed by Ana Gomes, who rose 0.1 percentage points and is now in second position.

Ana Gomes has 10.1% and André Ventura 10%, a technical tie and a minimum difference that can be diluted in the maximum error of the sample, 2.51%.

This is the first study by Eurosondagem after the decision of the national bodies of the PS not to indicate a vote in any of the candidates for Belém.

Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, who has not yet announced his candidacy, rises 2.1 percentage points compared to October and reinforces the advantage to 63.1%.

Marisa Matias, the candidate supported by BE, falls 1.3 percentage points compared to October, but maintains fourth place with 7.2%.

Who also falls, 0.5 percentage points, is the candidate supported by the PCP, João Ferreira, who appears in fifth position with 5% of the voting intentions.

Tiago Mayan Gonçalves, supported by the Liberal Initiative, rises 0.3 points and now appears in the study with 1.3%.

In this study, Eurosondagem assumed that 17.6% of respondents who did not answer or were unable to answer the questions will abstain.

Without the distribution of the undecided, Marcelo has 51.9%, Ana Gomes and André Ventura, both with 8.3%, Marisa Matias with 6%, João Ferreira with 4.1% and Tiago Mayan Gonçalves with the 1.1%.

The study was carried out between days 16 and 19 through 1,525 validated interviews, the sample having a maximum error of 2.51% for a degree of probability of 95.0%.
