The Funchal City Council (CMF) reports that this Friday, the Madeira Health Institute and Administration (IASaúde) learned that a worker from the Municipal Inspection tested positive for Covid-19, after a contact established during his holidays.

“The worker had no symptoms and had returned from vacation last Saturday, August 29, having been on duty until Monday,” says the municipality in a press release released this Friday.

“The worker has been isolated at home since last Tuesday, September 1, after learning that a person with whom he had been on vacation had tested positive,” explains the deputy for the Presidency of the CMF.

The worker then contacted IASaúde and waited for the test to be carried out, which happened yesterday, and he is still asymptomatic.

The Funchal City Council ensures that it was aware of the positive case, activated the internal contingency plan and carried out “all the necessary steps to help identify the contacts that were made, in close collaboration with the Funchal Health Delegate”.

The Municipal Inspection service was closed this morning, proceeding to its complete cleaning.
