The Minister of Health, Marta Temido, was moved this Friday, during the anniversary ceremony of the Ricardo Jorge National Institute (INSA), in Lisbon, thanking the work of the professionals of the institution throughout the pandemic caused by the appearance of the new coronavirus in the country.
“INSA is present, reliable, competent, respected at all times. Always, ”said Marta Temido. “Daily, in our emails and WhatsApp groups; every fortnight, in our technical meetings with parties; so many times in our social networks, in our homes and with our general public, through studies, projects, alliances, collaborations, research and various methodologies that have contributed a lot to the response to this pandemic in our country, “added the minister, unable to hold back her tears.
Marta Temido also highlighted the “coordination of the network of covid-19 diagnostic laboratories” by the INSA, through which “systems for recording information are supported, evaluating the capacity to perform tests and a strategic reserve of material and reagents for the laboratory diagnosis “of the infection caused by the new coronavirus.
During the speech, the head of the Health portfolio described the INSA as a “jewel in the crown of the National Health Service (SNS) and the Portuguese scientific system” and thanked again for the “solidarity” and “fighting misinformation” about the new coronavirus.
