Electricity is restored in Madeira in some parts of the Region after lightning struck the transmission line between Calheta and Funchal at 8:40 pm on Saturday and caused several damages to the system of the Vitória Thermal Power Plant, which was collapsed.

Technicians from the Madeira Electricity Company (EEM) were repairing the damage and put the entire system into operation after more than two hours of work. The replacement was carried out in a staggered manner.
