António Salvador granted this Thursday an interview to NEXT, SC Braga’s multimedia platform. Regarding the issue of Sporting’s debt for Rúben Amorim, the president of Braga showed confidence that the lions will comply with the agreement.
“I have no doubt that Sporting will deliver, in fact, I blindly believe that they will. This last agreement was only possible because Frederico Varandas called me and said that he could not pay, so we had to reach an agreement. Therefore, I put three conditions: Sporting had to recognize the total debt, without the excuse of Covid; the existence of terms and interests; and the immediate payment of a sum, as well as a document acknowledging the debt ”, he explained.
The SC Braga president also assumed that it was impossible to stop Rúben Amorim from harassing Sporting.
“We did not want to sell and even so I tried to offer one more year of contract, and if I kept it until the end, it would double my salary at SC Braga. In total they were 600 thousand euros in three years. However, when a club seems to pay 2.5 million euros it is impossible for us to follow it, “he concluded.
