Eight municipalities in the Algarve at risk of being part of the ‘partial confinement’ list

The Government will decide this Thursday in the Council of Ministers which municipalities are considered to be at high risk of transmission of covid-19.

OR POSTCARD identified eight municipalities in the Algarve with a high risk of covid-19 transmission, which are, respectively, Albufeira, Alcoutim, Faro, Loulé, Portimão, São Brás de Alportel, Tavira and Vila do Bispo, applying the general criteria of the European Center for Prevention and Disease Control (ECDC) of “more than 240 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last 14 days.”

If it is confirmed that the update of the aforementioned national list is carried out every 15 days, and taking into account that the counting period for the first list of 121 municipalities was from October 13 to 26, the beginning of the count for the next new one. The list should start the next day, that is, October 27.

If so, and according to the number of cases accumulated by municipalities in the Algarve region, to which POSTAL had access to an official source of the DGS, eight of the 16 municipalities may enter the limit of the “high risk list of transmission”. Algarvians who had October 27 to November 9 (14 days), the following new accumulated cases:

Albufeira cannot exceed 100 cases *but totalized 109 new cases;

Alcoutim: 6but totaled 9;

Pharaoh: 147but totaled 189;

Loulé: 165but totaled 167;

Portimão: 134but totaled 160;

São Brás de Alportel: 25but totaled 34;

Partial lockdown in 121 counties through November 19


It is recalled that at this time and until November 19, 121 municipalities are in partial closure, applying the duty to remain at home, except for authorized trips, such as shopping, work, education and physical activity.

Among the special measures implemented in the municipalities considered to be at high risk of transmission of covid-19, the duty to stay at home stands out, except in cases of authorized travel, which include the acquisition of goods and services, the performance of professional activities. , obtain medical attention, assist vulnerable people, attend schools, access cultural facilities, perform physical activity, participate in social volunteering activities, walk pets, feed animals, exercise freedom of the press and travel required to leave the national territory continental.

In these territories, all commercial establishments must close until 10 pm, except restaurants, which must close until 10:30 pm; food delivery services at home (that cannot provide alcoholic beverages within the scope of this activity) that must close at 1:00 am; cultural facilities, which must close at 10:30 pm; and other exceptions such as pharmacies, doctors’ offices and clinics, funeral activities, and service areas and service stations.

The closing time may be set by the mayor of the municipality with territorial authority, with the prior favorable opinion of the local health authority and security forces, provided that the established maximum limits are met.

Among the prohibitions that apply to these regions is the holding of events and celebrations with more than five people, unless they belong to the same address, and “fairs and markets, unless authorized by the president of the competent territorial council.” .

Religious ceremonies and shows are allowed, following the regulations of the General Directorate of Health (DGS), and at the labor level the lag is mandatory, as well as the adoption of the teleworking regime provided that the functions in question allow.
