Adeline Fagan, a doctor in Texas, United States, was one of the health professionals who was at the forefront of the fight against Covid-19 and who ended up dying from the disease.
The 28-year-old, asthmatic and with a history of pneumonia, fought against the coronavirus for two months, advances the The Guardian.
According to the family, the doctor wore “the same mask for weeks, if not months,” due to a shortage of supplies at the hospital.
Fagan was a native of New York and in July, after a 12-hour shift, he began experiencing the first symptoms of Covid-19. On a fundraising page to help pay for Adeline’s treatments, it is explained that weeks after the first symptoms the doctor had to be hospitalized.
“I think we were not prepared for what we saw, personally, when we entered the room. Adeline tried to reply, to shake her head or say a word or two. But her eyes were glassy and we weren’t sure if she was really there.” explained the doctor’s father, Brant, after visiting his daughter on Sept. 15. On the 19th, four days later, the young woman died.
