The MobZERO.pt website provides a simulator that makes a comparison between a 100% electric vehicle available in the national market and the internal combustion vehicles, gasoline and diesel, of the same segment and best-selling sub-segment, also in the national market. (according to data from the Portuguese Automobile Association, ACAP), in the previous year or semester.
According to a note on Zero's website, this new project aims to:
- Contribute to the paradigm shift in mobility in Portugal and the development of healthier Portuguese cities and towns;
- Inform and clarify citizens and companies about electric mobility; Y

- In its specific execution, the project also aims to:
- Disseminate more sustainable forms of mobility;
- Publicize existing electric vehicles in the national market, in terms of their characteristics and environmental and economic advantages;

The results of the simulator allow the comparison of various economic components associated with the acquisition and use of a motor vehicle, as well as the emissions of polluting gases, by the retention time of the same, according to the type of client, individual or business.
The figures show that, for the vast majority of models, 100% electric vehicles are more advantageous, both in terms of polluting gas emissions, and in relation to the total costs of acquisition and use, which are comparable or even lower than those of the vehicles. gasoline and diesel.
Example of what can be learned through the simulator ...
For a 100% electric C-segment saloon (Compact / Medium Family), charging in a residential or business environment, the MobZERO simulator presents a comparison of total CO2 emissions of 1, 13 and 12 tons and NOx emissions of 2 , 3 and 5 kilograms, for 100% electric vehicles, gasoline and diesel, respectively.
In the case of a private customer, the total costs of acquisition and use amount to approximately 39, 41 and 39 thousand euros, for 100% electric vehicles, gasoline and diesel, respectively. For a business client, these costs are around 26, 40 and 38 thousand euros. It should be noted that, among the total costs, the component of maintenance costs is around 1,200, 3,800 and 2,700 euros, for 100% electric vehicles, gasoline and diesel, respectively. Regarding the component of electricity or fuel costs, this is between 3,000, 8,000 and 5,500 euros, for the three types of vehicles, respectively. If the selected load for the 100% electric vehicle is Fast Charge on the MOBI.E network, this translates into an additional electricity cost of around 1000 euros.
In the case of a 100% electric SUV, also in segment C, the same comparison of CO2 emissions is located at 1, 15 and 14 tons and NOx emissions at 3, 3 and 5 kilograms for 100% electric vehicles, gasoline and diesel, respectively. The total costs for the private client are 48, 44 and 43 thousand euros and for the business client 32, 42 and 41 thousand euros.
