Portugal has just received the STAYAWAY COVID application. The mobile application is available for Android and iOS. While apps are not a solution for COVID-19, they can help control potential outbreaks.

We live in a pandemic and there are still skeptics who believe that it is all just a scheme programmed to hatch the world. Scheme or not, it is impossible to remain indifferent to the thousands of daily deaths that occur from the COVID-19 disease.
There are no times or places for the spread and any restrictions imposed are sufficient to minimize the impact. Mobile applications, while highly controversial, can play a key role in controlling localized outbreaks in small regions.
Here, the STAYAWAY COVID app is now available and can be installed on Android and iOS smartphones. Anyone who questions the use of the application for privacy reasons will know that there is no identification record of infected information or the smartphone.
The STAYAWAY COVID application detects the physical proximity between smartphones and informs users that they have been in the same space as someone infected in the last 14 days with the new coronavirus.
The application code is public and available on Github for anyone who wants to analyze it. You can also obtain here the decree-law that establishes the person responsible for the treatment and regulates the intervention of the doctor in the STAYAWAY COVID system.
