Victory 4-0 in Cyprus, qualification for the European Championship.

The Portuguese under-21 soccer team won this Friday on their trip to Cyprus 4-0, in a Group 7 qualifying match for Euro 2021, with two goals from captain Diogo Leite.

The FC Porto defender opened the scoring in the seventh minute, doubling the game at 27, with Jota extending his lead to 53 and João Mário putting the final score at 84.

In the Group 7 standings, Portugal follows in second place, with 12 points (five games), compared to 15 for the Netherlands (five), which leads the group, 10 for Norway (six), eight for Belarus (six), four from Cyprus (six) and none from Gibraltar (six).

The qualification for the European 2021, which runs until November, underwent changes due to the covid-19 pandemic, and the play-off was canceled. In addition to hosts Slovenia and Hungary, they are also the top finishers in the nine groups and the top five.
