The Portuguese striker is preparing to sign for Liverpool.

It was one of the novelties of the day on Friday: Diogo Jota and Liverpool will have reached an agreement and the Portuguese forward is preparing to reinforce the champion English team, in exchange for a budget of around 43 million euros.

In this way, Jurgen Klopp gains a new option for the offensive front, which could serve as an alternative to names like Salah, Mané or Firmino. According to the Mirror, the observation department of the “reds” had already identified Jota as a target for some time and it was Klopp who gave the guarantee for the final progress in the negotiations.

The British newspaper explains that the German coach is a “frank fan” of the qualities of the Portuguese international and that the versatility up front, as well as the ability to put pressure on the rival defensive sector, were decisive.

Who was left behind in Liverpool’s accounts was Ismaila Sarr, the Senegalese winger from Watford. Diogo Jota’s combination of attributes fits better with Klopp’s ideas, making the former FC Porto a priority.

In three seasons with the Wolves, Jota, 23, has scored 44 goals in 131 official games. Confirmation of Liverpool’s reinforcement should arrive at the end of this weekend.
