DGS reports 27 more cases of Covid-19 in the Algarve

There are 27 new cases of Covid-19 in the Algarve, according to data from the epidemiological bulletin of the General Directorate of Health (DGS) of this Monday, October 26, which has just been published.

According to DGS figures, the Algarve now has 2,496 confirmed cases of Covid-19 since the beginning of the pandemic. The total number of deaths recorded in the bulletin stands at 25.

The same is not the case in Alentejo, which, according to today’s bulletin, has one more death (37 in total) and 24 new cases.
The number of new infections nationwide amounts to 2,447, a number slightly lower than the figure for this Sunday (2,577).

The North was once again the region with the highest increase in cases (1633), and since the beginning of the pandemic it has already added 51,932 infections.

Even so, the Lisbon and Tagus Valley region, which had 580 new cases, continues to be the one with the highest number since the start of the pandemic: 53,412.

The Center, which has already registered 10,118 infections in accumulated numbers, has 167 more cases, Madeira more 11 and the Azores more 5.

The number of people recovered exceeded a thousand (1,079), but taking into account the number of new infections, there are 1,341 more active cases across the country.

With regard to deaths, 27 more were recorded across the country, bringing the total since the start of the pandemic to 2,342.

13 of the deaths registered today occurred in the Lisbon region and the Tagus Valley, totaling 940 since the start of the pandemic.

In the North there are 8 more victims to cry, which brings the accumulated number to 1030. In the Center 5 more people died and the accumulated total is 296 dead.

The number of people hospitalized has increased, according to the DGS, with 1672 in hospitals (+98). The number of patients in Intensive Care Units has also increased to 240 (+10).

There are currently 59,631 surveillance contacts, 882 more than the previous day.
