DGS Bulletin. Portugal with second worst day since pandemic began – Observer

After two days of decline, Portugal once again exceeded 3,000 cases of Covid-19. This Tuesday, the bulletin of the General Directorate of Health (DGS) on the epidemiological situation in the country confirmed another 3,299 cases of contagion by the new coronavirus, the second worst result since the start of the pandemic. The worst happened last Saturday, October 24, when 3,669 new cases were announced.

In the past 24 hours, there have been 28 more deaths due to Covid-19, just one more than on Monday. This is the second worst result of this month, only surpassed by last Friday, October 23, when 31 deaths were confirmed. It is also the second highest number since April 24, when 34 deaths were announced, and 16 since the start of the pandemic.

In total, 124,432 people now test positive for the new coronavirus in Portugal. The total number of deaths is now 2,371.

There are 49,717 active cases, 883 more than this Monday.
