The Hospital Center of Central Lisbon confirmed this Monday, to Lusa, the death of those seriously injured by the explosion of a building in Lisbon, which occurred on December 23.

The man, who is said to have been seriously injured and hospitalized since the day of the blast, was the father of the 24-year-old who was found dead in the rubble of the building.

Let us remember that the violent explosion, apparently caused by a gas leak, caused the collapse of a four-story building on Rua de Santa Marta, Lisbon, on December 20. The resulting fire was fought by dozens of firefighters, causing four injuries.

The seven residents displaced after the explosion of a building in Lisbon eight days ago, which caused two deaths, did not ask for help to find housing, the source of the municipality told the Lusa agency on Monday, adding that they used “their own means.”

According to the municipality, the residents did not express to the Lisbon City Council the need to provide them with alternative means of housing.

“The residents said they had an alternative for themselves,” the source added.
