A 90-year-old man on hemodialysis who died last week was responsible for the Covid-19 outbreak in an illegal home in Gondomar, Mayor Marco Martins told Lusa. Twenty-one users and eight employees of the Paródias e Ternuras house in Gondomar tested positive for covid-19 after the outbreak was detected Friday night, and nine more users tested negative, the mayor said.
“The origin was an elderly man at home who was on hemodialysis and passed away last week”, Marco Martins said, noting that the municipality was “informed in the morning of the outbreak and the results of the tests they were subjected to on Monday.” Marco Martins reported having met during the afternoon with “the Municipal Civil Protection Service, home management, Social Security and the Gondomar health delegation to define strategies and procedures.”
