Between May 1 and 8, 69,079 workers had requested this support, of which the vast majority (61,148) were employed, according to data from the Strategy and Planning Office of the Ministry of Labor, Solidarity and Social Security. In April, the number of orders exceeded 172 thousand.

At stake is support in the context of the covid-19 pandemic crisis for employees, self-employed or domestic workers who miss work due to childcare or other dependent minors, under 12 years of age, or with chronic disability / illness regardless of age, as a result of the closure of the educational establishment.

In the case of employees, the support corresponds to two thirds of the basic remuneration, that is, it does not include other components of remuneration, and has a minimum limit of 635 euros and a maximum of 1,905 euros.

The employee must submit a statement to the employing entity available on the Social Security website, and then the employer must complete and submit the online form by May 13 (initially, the deadline was May 10)
