The community of the parish of Sequeira, in Braga, promoted a solidarity walk on Sunday, the proceeds of which reverted to the cause of little Tomás, a boy who needs financial help to receive cancer treatment abroad.

The walk to Monte das Caldas raised 2,852 euros to help this cause, which is generating a great wave of solidarity.

Braga boy needs help to treat aggressive cancer abroad

The initiative had the support of the Sequeira Board, which offered the snack.

The organization thanks all the participants and volunteers who made it possible to carry out the solidarity action.

Little Tomás, 7, needs financial help to receive cancer treatment abroad. For this, a solidarity account was created to help parents, who live in the municipality of Braga.

The parents explain that, on September 20, 2019, Tomás was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, an aggressive and invasive cancer. A few days later, on October 1, he was diagnosed with an amplification of MYCN, the “most terrible, aggressive and invasive form of cancer” within neuroblastoma.

After several treatments in Portugal, everything seemed to be on track for the boy’s recovery, but last week, a “bomb” fell on the life of that family, when they realized that the same cancer had returned.

The family’s goal is to be able to take Tomás to Barcelona and the United States of America for treatments that have “a very high cost”.
