The Government prohibits circulation between municipalities from October 30 to November 3, the weekend of the Day of the Dead, it was announced this Thursday. The measure is part of the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.

“The Council of Ministers approved the prohibition of circulation in different provinces of the continental territory from 00:00 hours on October 30 until midnight on November 3, the weekend corresponding to the Day of the Dead, the Day of the Dead,” he said. The Minister of the Presidency, Mariana Vieira da Silva, at the end of the executive meeting.

“Each citizen cannot move between municipalities, as happened in the past,” the minister revealed, explaining that the measure takes effect between 00:00 hours on October 30, valid until November 3.

The decision to limit the movement of passengers comes just over a week after the Council of Ministers announced the return of the calamity.

The Government clarifies that anyone who needs to travel between October 30 and November 3, when movement between municipalities will be prohibited, needs a statement, the exceptions being the same as those applied at Easter.

Also on November 2, National Day of Mourning will be declared in honor of the victims of covid-19.

Special measures in the Sousa valley

The Council of Ministers also approved restrictions and “special measures for the municipalities of Felgueiras, Paços de Ferreira and Lousada in the context of the pandemic situation.”

“In these three counties the duty to stay at home was approved, with the exception of a set of activities, as had happened in the past in 19 parishes in Lisbon, to work, attend school and a set of other activities.”

The Government also decrees “the prohibition of any event with more than five people in these three municipalities.”

All establishments must be closed in these three municipalities, at 10 pm.

In these three municipalities, teleworking is mandatory for all functions that allow it.

Home visits and long-term care centers or day care centers are suspended.

The holding of fairs or markets is prohibited.
