O jornal El País noticia esta quinta-feira que os dados divulgados diariamente pelo Ministério da Saúde revelam-se insuficientes para fornecer uma imagem, ainda que aproximada, da tragédia.

9h02 – Centro Europeu admite uso generalizado de máscaras

O Centro Europeu de Doenças admite o uso generalizado de máscaras pela população em locais fechados e com muita gente, apenas como complementar à etiqueta respiratória e distância de segurança.

O Centro Europeu de Prevenção e Controlo de Doenças (ECDC) alerta que com o uso das máscaras há o risco de uma falsa sensação de segurança.

Alerta também que é importante saber remover a máscara e que a remoção de forma errada pode aumentar o risco.

O antigo presidente do Brasil disse à Antena 1 que o atual Presidente, Jair Bolsonaro, não é a pessoa indicada para lidar com esta pandemia, mas ainda espera que Bolsonaro corriga a situação.

O Presidente dos Estados Unidos criticou a ação da Organização Mundial de Saúde nesta pandemia e ameaçou mesmo deixar de pagar.


8h12 – Los Angeles pede a residentes para ficarem em casa

As autoridades de saúde estão a pedir aos residentes que evitem ir às compras nos próximos dias, designando uma semana para ficarem em casa.

Os supermercados de Los Angeles estão a implementar medidas restritivas em março, estão a funcionar com horário reduzido e limitam o número de pessoas dentro das instalações a cada momento.

7h45 – Mais de milhão e meio de casos à escala mundial



Às 5h30 desta quinta-feira estavam registados mais de um milhão e meio de casos de infeção pelo novo coronavírus em todo o mundo, segundo a contagem da agência France Presse, a partir de fontes oficiais.

O número de casos de infeção era de 1.502.478. Morreram vítimas da Covid-19 87.320 pessoas em 192 países e territórios.

A agência noticiosa francesa volta a sublinhar que “o número de casos diagnosticados apenas reflete uma fração do número real de contaminações”. Isto porque um número considerável de países só faz testes a casos considerados graves.

7h36 – Números dos Estados Unidos

Os Estados Unidos registaram ontem 1973 mortes causadas pela Covid-19, depois de na véspera terem também registado um número muito próximo dos dois mil, segundo os cálculos da Universidade Johns Hopkins.

O número total de vítimas mortais da pandemia em solo norte-americano é agora de 14.695.

Os Estados Unidos são o segundo país com maior número de mortes desde que o surto começou. Itália é o país do mundo com mais vítimas mortais: 17.669 óbitos em 139.422 casos.

Por outro lado, a América surge como o país com o maior número de casos confirmados, mais de um quarto dos casos mundiais. Há mais de 429 mil pessoas infetadas pelo novo coronavírus.

7h27 – Números da China

As autoridades chinesas registaram, nas últimas 24 horas, 63 novos casos de infeção pelo novo coronavírus, incluindo dois de contágio local em Guangdong, província próxima da região administrativa especial de Macau.

Em Hubei, província chinesa que foi o ponto de origem da pandemia, morreram duas pessoas. Contudo, não houve registo de novos casos. Isto um dia depois de terminado o bloqueio à cidade de Wuhan.

As autoridades da China revelaram ainda ter detetado 56 novos casos assintomáticos, elevando o total para 1151.

De acordo com os dados oficiais, o número total de infetados no colosso asiático, desde o início da pandemia, é de 81.856. Morreram 3.335 pessoas e outas 77.370 tiveram alta após cura.

6h55 – Ponto de situação
Já estão em vigor as restrições à circulação impostas para o período da Páscoa.

Desde a meia-noite e até à próxima segunda-feira, só é possível sair do concelho de residência por motivo de trabalho ou de saúde. Quem vai trabalhar precisa de ter um documento que o comprove. Às 0h00 começou a operação Páscoa em Casa, com
medidas ainda mais restritivas. Os cidadãos não podem sair do concelho
onde residem.

Estas medidas impostas pelo Governo pretendem restringir os contactos sociais em contexto de pandemia.

Na área metropolitana do Porto, a Operação Páscoa tem dois pontos de controlo fixos: um está montado à entrada da Ponte da Arrábida, no sentido norte-sul; o outro fica junto à Ponte do Freixo, também no sentido norte-sul.

Além destes dois pontos, a fiscalização dos veículos também está a ser feita noutros locais.

Na capital, as principais saídas estiveram muito condicionadas ao final do dia de quarta-feira, em ambos os sentidos.

Milhares de automobilistas fizeram fila nas pontes Vasco da Gama e 25 de Abril.

Acabaram por ser paradas nas diversas operações montadas pela PSP e pela GNR.
Aeroportos encerrados

Todos os aeroportos do país estão encerrados. Também desde a meia-noite estão proibidos os voos comerciais de passageiros. As únicas exceções são aterragens de emergência, voos humanitários ou de repatriamento.

A proibição está em vigor até às 24h00 de dia 13 de abril, abrangendo o período da páscoa.

A medida restritiva insere-se no que foi decretado para o estado de emergência, prolongado até 17 de abril.
Dia de decisão sobre as escolas

O Governo anuncia esta quinta-feira a sua decisão sobre as atividades letivas presenciais no terceiro período, após ter auscultado, ao longo de dois dias, especialistas, representantes da comunidade escolar, partidos, sindicatos e os órgãos consultivos do Ministério da Educação.

Todos os estabelecimentos de ensino, desde creches a universidades e institutos politécnicos, estão de portas fechadas desde 16 de março, numa tentativa de conter a propagação do novo coronavírus.

A medida foi agora reavaliada e o Executivo de António Costa prepara-se para revelar se vai manter a suspensão das aulas durante o terceiro período que, para a maioria dos alunos do ensino básico e secundário, começaria na próxima segunda-feira.

E declarações à agência Lusa, a presidente do Conselho Nacional de Educação, que esteve na terceira reunião sobre a situação epidemiológica da Covid-19 em Portugal, adiantou que as aulas do último período vão arrancar ainda à distância. Considerou mesmo pouco viável o retorno às escolas em maio.

Essa possibilidade tinha sido levantada pelo primeiro-ministro, António Costa, que na sexta-feira apontou o dia 04 de maio como a data limite para um recomeço das aulas presenciais que assegure o cumprimento com normalidade do calendário escolar, designadamente no ensino secundário.
O quadro da pandemia em Portugal

O número de vítimas mortais da Covid-19 em território português voltou na quarta-feira a aumentar.

De acordo com o último boletim da Direção-Geral da Saúde, morreram mais 35 pessoas. Desde o início da epidemia, perderam a vida 380.

Estão confirmados 13.141 casos de infeção, mais 699 do que no dia anterior. Há 1211 pessoas internadas – 245 estão nos cuidados intensivos.O novo coronavírus, na origem da pandemia da
Covid-19, já infetou mais de 1,4 milhões de pessoas em todo o mundo.
Morreram mais de 82 mil. Foram dadas como curadas 260 mil pessoas.

A Região Autónoma dos Açores registou a primeira morte por Covid-19. Trata-de de um homem que se encontrava internado e que terá sido infetado por profissionais de saúde.

A Autoridade de Saúde Regional adiantou que o doente tinha “cerca de 90 anos” e “morbilidades associadas”.

Na última conferência de imprensa, a diretora-geral da Saúde afirmou que ainda não é possível estimar se o pico da infeção já passou, mas admitiu que os dados mostram uma estabilização.
