Em Portugal, morreram 1.126 pessoas das 27.406 confirmadas como infetadas, e há 2.499 casos recuperados, segundo o último boletim diário da Direção-Geral da Saúde sobre a pandemia.
O país está desde domingo em situação de calamidade devido à pandemia de Covid-19, depois de 45 dias em estado de emergência, que vigorou entre 19 de março e 2 de maio. O novo contexto permitiu a reabertura de alguns espaços e atividade económica.
Em termos económicos, o FMI prevê uma recessão em Portugal de 8% e uma taxa de desemprego de 13,9% em 2020.
Já Bruxelas, estima uma contração da economia nacional de 6,8%, menos grave do que a média europeia, mas projeta uma retoma em 2021 de 5,8% do PIB, abaixo da média da UE (6,1%) e da zona euro (6,3%).
A pandemia de Covid-19 já provocou mais de 276 mil mortos e infetou mais de 3,9 milhões de pessoas em 195 países e territórios. nos últimos meses. Mais de 1,3 milhões de doentes foram considerados curados.
Desde que a doença foi detetada, primeiro na China, e depois no resto do mundo, os Governos de vários países apelaram ao confinamento e mandaram para casa mais de metade da população mundial, encerrando também o comércio não essencial. O tráfego aéreo também foi drasticamente reduzido e a economia mundial tem setores inteiros completamente paralisados.
Face à diminuição de contágios e de doentes nos cuidados intensivos, mas também às dificuldades económicas, nas últimas semanas têm sido vários os países que têm tentado o desconfinamento, com planos de redução das medidas de restrição.
