Covid-19: Portugal with three more deaths and 618 infected

In the last 24 hours, Portugal registered three more deaths and 618 new ones infected by covid-19, according to the bulletin released by the General Directorate of Health (DGS).

It is an increase in relation to the two deaths and 388 infected the day before. This is, in fact, the day with the most new cases in two weeks.

The transmissibility index (Rt) is 0.94 in the total territory, having risen to 0.94 also in continental Portugal. The country remains in the green zone of the “traffic light”, but is approaching 1, one of the limits established in the risk matrix developed by the Government for deflation.

In total, since the start of the pandemic, there have been a total of 821,722 confirmed cases, of which 16,848 have resulted in deaths.

In the last 24 hours, 707 more have been recovered. Currently, the country has 26,664 active cases of the new coronavirus, 92 less than the previous day.

The number of hospitalizations has decreased: there are now fewer 26 patients admitted, out of a total of 558; in Intensive Care Units the number drops to 127, two less than the day before.

Two deaths occurred in Lisbon and Vale do Tejo, which has 271 more infected. The other was in the North region, which has 210 more cases.

In the Center, 74 more are infected, in Alentejo nine, in Algarve 35, in Madeira 11 and in the Azores eight.
