Since the beginning of the pandemic, Portugal has registered 5,461 deaths and 344,700 cases of infection with the new coronavirus, with 480 active cases currently.

The DGS indicates that of the 88 deaths registered in the last 24 hours, 38 occurred in the North, 26 in the Lisbon and Vale do Tejo region, 21 in the Center region and three in Alentejo. There are no deaths to mourn in the Algarve and the archipelagos.

The first death is also counted in the age group between 10 and 19 years. The bulletin indicates that it is a woman.

Regarding hospital admissions, the epidemiological bulletin reveals that 3,093 people are hospitalized (137 less than yesterday). In intensive care there are 503 patients (four less than yesterday).

The DGS also affirms that the health authorities have 73,977 contacts under surveillance, less 917 compared to Friday, and 4,805 more patients recovered in the last 24 hours, a total of X since the start of the pandemic in March.

In the Lisbon region and the Tagus Valley, 1,347 new cases of infection were reported, with 111,982 cases and 1,889 deaths.

In the North, another 2,078 new cases were registered, totaling 180,456 and 2,616 deaths.

In the Central region, there were 738 more cases of contagion, with 36,096 and 734 deaths.

In Alentejo, 130 new cases were registered, with a total of 7,743 and 141 deaths.

The Algarve region today reported 62 more cases of infection, with a total of 6,077 cases and 58 deaths since the start of the pandemic.

In the Autonomous Region of the Azores, 31 new cases were registered in the last 24 hours, totaling 1,301 infections detected and 20 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic.

Madeira registered 27 new cases in the last 24 hours, representing 1,045 infections and three deaths.

The total number of confirmed cases is distributed among all age groups, with the highest number of infections between 40 and 49 years.

The new coronavirus has already infected at least 154,947 men and 189,620 women in Portugal, according to reported cases.

Today’s bulletin indicates that there are 133 confirmed cases of unknown sex that are under investigation, as this data is not automatically released.

Of the total deaths, 2,862 were men and 2,599 women.

The highest number of deaths is still concentrated in people over 80 years of age.
