Covid-19: Portugal with 21 more deaths and 3,669 infected

The number of victims of covid-19 in Portugal went from 2,276 to 2,297 and the number of confirmed cases increased from 112,440 to 116,109, according to data from the General Directorate of Health (DGS) this Saturday.

In the last 24 hours, there were 21 more deaths and 3,669 infected, a new peak of cases in 24 hours. The day with the most new cases had been Thursday, October 22, with 3,270 infected, the first with more than 3,000 diagnoses.

The fatal victims are:

– Three men between 50 and 59 years old;
– Three men and one woman between 60 and 69 years old;
– A man between 70 and 70 years old;
– Seven men and six women over 80 years of age.

There are 37 more people hospitalized, for a total of 1,455, the highest number in history, after a new high was set on Thursday. There are 221 patients in the Intensive Care Units, 23 less than the day before.

In the last 24 hours, 1,962 more were recovered, leading to 67,842 people cured since the start of the pandemic. But active cases also continue to rise. There are 1,686 more from the day before, for a total of 45,970.

The northern region passed the barrier of two thousand cases a day. There were 2,212 in 24 hours, 60% of the new cases in this bulletin. There were also 11 deaths in the region.

Lisbon and the Tagus Valley have more than 1027 infected and six deaths. In the Center there was one death and 273 new cases, in Alentejo there were two deaths and 96 infected and in the Algarve there was one death and 54 new cases.

Azores and Madeira did not register deaths and had four and three new cases, respectively.
