Covid-19: Portugal registers three more deaths and 374 confirmed cases – News

Since the beginning of the pandemic, today there have been 57,448 (plus 374) confirmed cases of infection and 1,818 (plus three) deaths.

There are 41,766 recovered patient cases to record, 210 more than yesterday.

The three deaths occurred in the Lisbon and Vale do Tejo region, which now has 663 deaths and 29,663 confirmed cases of infection (149 more than yesterday).

In the last 24 hours the number of patients admitted to hospitals is 324 (minus 10). There are 40 people in the intensive care unit (two more).

In the north, which has 848 deaths, there are 20,614 cases of covid-19, 157 more than the previous day.

In the central region, 23 more cases were registered, totaling 4,780, with 253 deaths.

The Alentejo registered three more infections, for a total of 926, and accounted for 22 deaths, while the Algarve, with 1,099 infections, registered 37 new cases in the last 24 hours. In this region, covid-19 caused 17 deaths.

In the Azores, there was one case in the last 24 hours, making a total of 209 infections and 15 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic. In Madeira, there were four new cases, for a total of 157, with no deaths.

The DGS bulletin also indicates that 33,965 patients are currently under surveillance, 35 more than on Friday.

The number of hospitalized patients fell to 324 (minus 10) and the number of hospitalized patients in Intensive Care Units rose to 40, with two more cases.

Confirmed cases are distributed in all age groups, with the highest number of infections between 40 and 49 years.

Of the total deaths, 916 were men and 902 women.

The highest number of deaths is still concentrated in people over 80 years of age.

The covid-19 pandemic has already claimed at least 838,000 deaths and infected almost 24.8 million people in 196 countries and territories, according to a report by the French agency AFP.
